Meet Dr. Chuck

Dr. Charles Reinertsen graduated from the University of Florida’s College of Dentistry in 1979. As a lifelong learner, Dr. Chuck, as he likes to be referred, has acquired additional knowledge and hands-on training at the Pankey Institute for advanced dental education and the Great Lakes Education Center for CEREC CAD/CAM training. He attended and successfully completed the Invisalign program for invisible orthodontics along with several levels of advanced aesthetic dental techniques offered through the Nash institute for Dental Learning. Most recently, Dr. Chuck completed instruction on use of Tek Scan, digital bite analysis.

Dr. Chuck feels deeply about giving back by volunteering his time and knowledge to the community and his profession. He has participated in Million Dollar Smiles, Give Kids A Smile, the Florida Dental Association’s program for National Children’s Dental Health Month. Locally, he has donated his time and skills to Project Dentists Care of Lake County, a volunteer organization dedicated to providing high quality care through the Lake County Health Department Dental Clinic. Dr. Reinertsen served on the Lake County Dental Society’s board in various positions most recently as president.

In his personal time, Dr. Chuck enjoys family time with his kids and grandkids as well as touring the back roads on his motorcycle.

Meet Dr. Luong

We are very privileged to announce the addition of Dr. Maria Luong to Our Dental Team! Her experience, caring manner, and excitement of dentistry will make your next visit a real pleasure. Dr. Luong is very experienced in every area of general dentistry. Children, teenagers, adults and senior adults will all be comfortable with her caring hands and gentle way. Most of the procedures you or your family will ever need can be handled in one place. This convenience will make your visits very close to “One Stop Dentistry.”

Dr. Maria Luong received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the Medical University of South Carolina and a B.S. in Biology from the University of South Carolina. She completed a residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry and served for the United State Navy for 5 years. Dr. Luong’s goal is to help you achieve a healthy beautiful smile. She is dedicated to providing quality, excellent dental care to her patients through continual advanced education and training. Dr. Luong is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, Greater Orlando Dental Society, and International Association of Orthodontics

In addition to “Traditional” dentistry, Dr. Luong brings with her extensive experience with BOTOX Cosmetics®, Restylane® and Juvederm®. This will be of great value to many of you interested in erasing the visible effects of aging or revitalizing your skin without surgery. Who doesn’t want to look younger?

Dr. Luong lives in Eustis with her husband, Tim, and their two wonderful children. Tim is a Clinical Pharmacist at Florida Hospital Waterman. That’s what brought them here from Orlando. They have put down their roots in our area and are here to stay. Her husband, Tim, and their two children are an inspiration to her to continually excel in her professional career.

One of the things most appealing about Dr. Luong is her dedication and compassion toward her patients. She stays on the leading edge providing the latest techniques to help you keep a beautiful smile for the rest of your life. Her passion for her patients and cosmetic results they desire is evident in the final product…Picture Perfect Smiles!

Meet Our Dental Assistants

Dana Dana has assisted Dr. Reinertsen for over six years as an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA). With a background in customer service, Dana strives to provide the highest quality care dentistry has to offer. She has continued her education and has been recognized for her skills designing CEREC (3D CAD/CAM) restorations as well as Invisalign (invisible braces) training. Her dedication to our patients and attention to detail embody our mission to strive for Dental Excellence. In her personal time, Dana enjoys raising her two children and providing one on one instruction as a certified personal trainer.

Katie Katie decided to pursue a career in dentistry seven years ago. In 2001, she graduated from the Expanded Functions Dental Assisting program at Lake-Sumter Community College. Katie has continued to seek out additional training with CEREC design, Invisalign and Biolase. The ability to develop long term relationships with patients was one of the key reasons why Katie chose dentistry. As has already been experienced, these relationships can last for years and years and adds so much to our own lives. Katie’s bubbly personality will make you feel welcome the minute you meet her.

In her free time, Katie enjoys spending time with her family, church and loves the out-of-doors.

Meet Our Dental Hygienists

Lourdes There’s more to Lourdes than first meets the eye. Lourdes moved to the United States from The Phillipeans, where she was a Dentist! She had her own practice for 8 years and was thoroughly enjoying dentistry, but there was a family decision to move to Florida. In Florida, as a foreign trained dentist, you must take a two year course to be eligible to take the Florida Board of Dentistry Examination, or you can take the Hygienist Examination immediately. She chose to take the Hygiene Examination, which she passed with flying colors. Lourdes has a very gentle way about her entire being. Her voice, her touch, and her personality are all, very gentle. And she’s performing hygiene through the eyes of a dentist. You, and we, are very fortunate to have Lourdes as a very important part of our Dental Family.

Mimi Mimi came to us right out of dental hygiene school in 2006. She started her education at the University of Central Florida and majored in Political Science. Mimi chose to take time off to start a family with her husband, Marco and created a beautiful daughter, Ravan. A little while later, she resumed her professional career with the encouragement of a dentist to pursue dental hygiene at Valencia Community College in Orlando, Florida. Mimi always strives to stay current with the latest information, services and technology in order to bring our patients the most conscientious and highest quality dental health care. She looks forward to meeting, getting better acquainted and caring for you, your family and friends.

Toni All of us at Tavares Dental Excellence are excited to introduce Toni Valley, RDH, to our patients and into our dental family. Toni graduated from Pensacola Junior College five years ago and has been practicing full-time dental hygiene every since. She’s currently working towards her Bachelors degree in Business Administration and is looking forward to applying to dental school afterwards. In her spare time she enjoys making jewelry and remodeling houses.

Meet Our Patient Coordinators

Christine brings over 20 years of customer service to our dental family. Her experience ranges from cemetery and funeral arranging, accounting as well as working along side her husband, David, in a family owned business specializing in interior trim and finishing. Her skill and compassion make her a welcome addition to our team. In her personal time she is passionate about spending time with David and her two grown sons. She’s even on her son’s FASCAR racing team pit crew. She also enjoys cooking and raising farm animals.

Johanna Johanna recently moved from Illinois to Leesburg. With over 40 years in customer service, she brings a wealth of knowledge to our business office. Johanna has had several careers ranging from mortgage and banking, construction, retail to owning her own auto repair business.

Johanna also shares a passion for auto racing. NASCAR is her passion. GO #24! She is a mother to six grown children and grandmother to 14 grandkids. Next time you visit ask her about her talking parrot, Fred.

Alana Alana, an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA), joined our dental family in 2005. She earned an Associates Degree in Applied Sciences/Dental Assisting from Northwestern Michigan College and has worked in the dental field as a Certified and Registered Dental Assistant since 1987. Alana has been member of the Dental Assisting National Board for 20 years. As a Smile Consultant, Alana enjoys helping patients achieve their “Dream Smile”.

" My Life Literally Changed Because Of A Smile! I just wanted to take a few minutes to express to you my sincere gratitude for the changes that you have made in my life. It has been over three years now since I came to you and decided to go ahead and have those old, ground-down teeth of mine replaced with the pearly white veneers. As you know, I was a little bit skeptical at first but now that the procedure has been done, I only wish that I would have had it done a lot sooner.
